Rochdale Municipal Offices
Number One Riverside opened in March 2013. The multi use public building is the new home for the municipal offices and also includes: • A new central library • Council customer information point • Coffee shop • Meeting and conference facilities for community use The site, which was previously used as public car parking, is situated is bounded by the River Roch, Smith Street and Milton Street with the River Roch forming the South and West boundaries. The building lies on the opposite side of Smith Street to the old Rochdale Municipal Offices and Bus Station. Both structures are currently being demolished (Image]) to make way for a new shopping facility as part of the next stage in Rochdale’s Town Centre Regeneration. The site on the western side of the river hosts the new Rochdale Transport Interchange. Image] and Image] show the site during its development.
