Walsden and mill chimneys
Beyond the row of terraced houses is the weaving shed of Bottoms Mill with its north light roof. The taller chimney is on Bottoms Mill and the shorter one is on the adjoining Jubilee Mill.

Bottoms Mill, Walsden
This is the older north light roof weaving shed at this mill that was established in 1853. The red brick chimney with the oversailing cap is that for Bottoms Mill while the one with white brick lettering is for the adjoining Jubilee Mill.

Winterbutlee Mill, Walsden
This former cotton mill dates to about 1861 and remained in use until 1962 when it passed into use as Gordon Rigg's garden centre. This business has expanded to occupy the former Bottoms and Jubilee Mills on the opposite side of the road behind the photographer. The chimney has been shortened and some of the mill has been demolished.

Bottoms Mill, Walsden
The building to the left of the watercourse and the tall chimney with an oversailing cap are all part of a former cotton mill known as Bottoms Mills. This is now part of the Gordon Rigg's garden centre empire. The building on the right is part of Jubilee Mill and that too is part of the Gordon Rigg's empire. Unfortunately the lighting was awful.

Walsden play in the Central Lancashire League. The current ground was formerly the site of Inchfield Mill dam and was leased to the Club by E. This is the older part of this cotton mill that was established in 1853. A more recent part is in red brick. It is now part of Gordon Rigg's garden centre empire that uses three old textile mills in Walsden. The single storey section is a north light roofed weaving shed.

Rigg's Mill and Motor Museum
Horizontal single cylinder steam engine by The Bryan Donkin Company Ltd, Chesterfield. The museum does not state its provenance or purpose but it almost certainly was used in a gas works and is typical of the many Donkin engines that were used in gas works.
