A different font for each line. The 'ones' were carved when a strong north-west wind was blowing.

Evidence of subsidence
These victorian houses on Rochdale Road at Walsden have clearly suffered from serious subsidence, and are a long way from vertical. However the two houses on the end, built later are perfectly vertical. The brooding and smoke blackened building at the end is Trinity Methodist Church.

Steam powered integrated cotton spinning & weaving mill built in 1856-8. Four storey, 18 bay mill and attached single storey weaving shed powered from the central engine house. Now in multiple occupancy. This view shows the single storey weaving shed with a north light roof.
