Guillotine
The original lower lock gates were replaced in 1996 by this style known as a "guillotine" which is electrically operated. The lock is very close to the road bridge.

Union Offices, Hall Street, Todmorden
Dated 1901. I think this must have been the offices of the Poor Law Union, which operated from 1837 to 1930 despite the creation of Todmorden Municipal Borough in 1896.

Royal Mail sorting office, Todmorden
Perhaps it should be delivery office? The sign says 'Enquiry Office'. The vans are parked here ready for the next day's mail. The building is an extension to Todmorden Old Hall, and was built in a Victorian version of 17C style.
