Founded in 1917 and still going strong although socks do not seem to feature large in their products. The company is the UK's leading manufacturer of latex foam and crumb rubber coated felts and textiles which are used in a wide range of domestic and industrial applications from footwear insoles to carpet underlay. Britannia: Rochdale Road
Looking eastwards along the A671, the rear of the former Beulah Chapel (now converted into apartments) is seen on the right. Some of the apartments are still advertised for sale. The altitude here is around 1000 feet, so it can be somewhat bleak in winter!
