Bacup: River Irwell
Looking upstream from Lee Road bridge, it can quite clearly be seen where the railway line crossed the river, (and Lee Road). Lee Mill is seen in the background here.

Bacup: 7 to 31 Lee Road
Looking south. This is the part of Lee Road nearest to Newchurch Road. No 7 is the nearest house and is the lowest odd number - Nos. 1, 3 and 5 were demolished many years ago.

Bacup: The 'Royal Oak', Newchurch Road
A fine local pub, with a bright clean appearance, serving the excellent Thwaites beers from Blackburn. This pub. has the advantage of some parking space right outside. Well over 100 years old and well worthy of a visit for a pint or two - there are frequent buses along here from Accrington, Rawtenstall, Todmorden, Bacup centre, and Rochdale, so no excuse.

Bacup: Newchurch Road
Looking east. The bus, westbound on Route 65, is passing the end of Lee Road.
Route 65 operates from Todmorden to Rawtenstall via Bacup, where it travels via Britannia and New Line. The vehicle is S860 DGX, a Volvo Olympian with Northern Counties body, still in its original blue and yellow livery, as it came secondhand to Rossendale Transport from Metrobus, an operator in Southeast London, Kent and Surrey.
