College and flats
On the left is the Rochdale campus of Hopwood Hall College which was incorporated in 1992 and officially opened by HRH Queen Elizabeth II on 17 July 1992. The college operates from two campuses in Rochdale and Middleton. The Rochdale campus was formerly home to Rochdale College of Further Education, Rochdale College of Art and Rochdale Technology College, all of which merged when the college was incorporated. In the background are some of the blocks of flats at College Bank. These tower blocks known locally as "The Seven Sisters" consist of four tower blocks 21 storeys high and three tower blocks 17 storeys high and provide 761 homes. They took two years to build between 1963 and 1965.
