Ensor Mill, Castleton, Rochdale
A former cotton spinning mill of 1908. The large gap on the right was the large engine house containing back to back horizontal steam engines driving in opposite directions. One was a tandem compound and the other a cross compound. The grey cladding marks where one rope race was. Now in other uses. Pity the engine house was demolished.
