The Postwick Viaduct - view from one end to the other
A section of the circular walk which leads around the western tip of Whitlingham Marsh runs underneath the viaduct from the riverbank in the north-east to its southwestern end. Postwick Viaduct > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1674561 is about 600 metres long. It forms part of the Norwich southern bypass (which was completed in 1992) and carries the A47 road across the River Yare and Whitlingham Marsh.

The Premier Inn in Old Chapel Way
As seen from Northside. There are over 750 Premier Inn hotels across the UK and Ireland and further afield. This one is officially known as (Norwich East/A47) Premier Inn and is situated in Old Chapel Way on the Broadland Business Park in Thorpe St Andrew.

A former driveway and footpath
This used to be the driveway to the Norfolk Lunatic Asylum's medical superintendent's house which was situated on the north side of Yarmouth Road a short distance to the east of this stone footbridge > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5678224. The property was later named 'Thorpe End' but it has long since been demolished. Only the brick gate posts are still in place > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5682188. Now the drive ends at the foot of steel steps > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5682192 giving access to a national grid gas installation > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5682193.

Entrance to Thorpe End
The gate posts mark the entrance to the Norfolk Lunatic Asylum's medical superintendent's house (constructed in 1892), which was situated on the north side of Yarmouth Road, a short distance to the east of this stone footbridge > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5678224. The property was later named 'Thorpe End' but it has long since been demolished. Only the brick gate posts are still in place. The driveway turned left onto the property whereas the track continued as a footpath, leading straight on (north) to the Annexe on Northside.
