Memorial to crashed B-24 Liberator
A cast metal tablet on a brick plinth beneath a tree to which it refers. At the top is the emblem of the 8th United State Army Air Force. Inscription reads: This tree was planted in 1992 in memory of the crew of the B-24 Liberator aircraft of the 564th Bomb Squadron, 389th Bomb Group, 2nd Air Division, U. S. 8th Air Force who died in a crash in Carr's Hill Wood, Costessey on 7th March 1945. 1st Lt Dale E Williams, 2nd Lt Richard K Angert, T/Sgt Marion J Kaczmarek, S/Sgt George W Eckelbecker, S/Sgt John A Luther, 1st Lt George E Benko. Sgt Hubert D Pfeiffer, S/Sgt James V Hill, S/Sgt Alan E Whitehurst, Cpl Dwayne H Huebner.
