The fountain in the rose garden
It is currently colonised by children as the water has as yet to be turned on. The circular rose garden can be found at the north-eastern corner of the park. The low- curved fountain set with multi-coloured tiles set behind a low wall was commissioned by the Norwich City Council in 2000, as part of the four million pound restoration of the Norwich parks, and created by Jonathan Keep. Water runs out from the stainless steel outlet at the top of the fountain down the sides and out to the two shallow tiled channels - each about twelve metres long - which run east-west from the fountain along the main paths. The current fountain is a modern re-interpretation of the original retaining six radiating paths leading to a central circular water feature.
