The Norwich Model Boat Club clubhouse in Eaton Park
The boat pond dates from 1928 and is said to be one of the finest in Europe. It holds 960,000 gallons of fresh water and was first used to sail traditional "vane" yachts but today is populated by a great variety of model boats. The pond is home to the Norwich Model Boat Club, using the model boat pavilion situated at the southern end of the pond as its club house. This Grade 2 listed pavilion was built by A Sandys Winch in Modern style, recalling Mogul India, has a flat-roofed clock tower above and forms part of an important group of structures in this park.
