Plaque on the Art and Sculpture Trail
Murals, plaques and sculptures can be seen along the recently opened Art and Sculpture Trail. This plaque was created by Mitchell House. It is affixed to the sea wall on the West Promenade and titled "Fishermen in their Ganseys" and shows Big John Craske (left) and James "Squinter" West > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1093792. A gansey, a jumper knitted with a specific pattern, used to be a fisherman's most distinctive feature.

View east on the West Promenade
The appearance of the formerly bare concrete sea wall has been greatly improved by this mural on the West Promenade, one of several which form part of the recently opened Art and Sculpture Trail. It was created by artist Colin Seal and is titled "Seals at Play". The seals are accompanied by mackerels.
