Holt: Common Hills Plantation and the disused railway
The track of the old railway runs along the bank on the right. The railway may be brought back to life as part of the Norfolk Orbital Railway. See Image In the meantime this is a delightful little piece of woodland consisiting mainly of beech and sweet chestnut trees. I was glad I had filled my pockets with chestnuts in Cromer Road, Holt, for the critters had got there first in this wood, and only empty casings remained.

Where once the railway ran, west of Common Hills Plantation
The course of the railway is from right to left, at right angles to the path. The railway may be brought back to life as part of the Norfolk Orbital Railway (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norfolk_Orbital_Railway ). Not much left here to see, unlike Image] and Image] (cf).
