The Mitre community caf? and restaurant
The property, which had last been occupied by a Chinese takeaway, was purchased by St Thomas Church > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5745803, which is situated next door, at the start of the 2016 and volunteers have since transformed it into a community café, bar and bistro. The not-for-profit venture re-opened to the public in August 2017, with the ground floor accommodating the main bar and restaurant and the upstairs area to be used by community groups. The church intends to run the pub through its trading arm and any profit will go towards a handful of chosen charities, including the International Justice Mission, which aims to combat people trafficking.
