GoGoHares - George the Watchmaker
For 11 weeks during the summer of 2018, 50 beautifully painted hare sculptures are on display at strategic locations in the city of Norwich. The sculptures will be sold by auction in September, with the proceeds going to the Norfolk charity 'Break'. The hare named 'George the Watchmaker' is sponsored by Dipples, Norwich and Norfolk's leading family-owned jewellers. The artist who created this sculpture is Beverley Gene Coraldeau. George can be seen by the junction of London Street (which can be seen in the background) and Swan Lane.

By far not the only homeless person in the city's streets. The number of rough sleepers known to the authorities has risen from 250 to 400 over the past four years, and according to a recent survey there are 30 rough sleepers in the city. Nine have died in the county during the past year. According to data from the Office for National Statistics, three homeless people died in Great Yarmouth, two in King's Lynn and west Norfolk, three in Norwich and one in south Norfolk in 2018. But councils estimate that 12 people may have died while homeless.
