Little Snoring increased in size during WW2, when a bomber airfield was established in the vicinity; this connection is commemorated in the Little Snoring village sign which depicts the rudder of an aeroplane > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/849554. Little Snoring village sign (detail)
The sign depicts the history of Little Snoring. A three bladed aircraft propeller divides the image into three, Agriculture the church with its semi-detached tower and The World War Two airfield with a mosquito flying over the runway. An owl and ash leaves are also featured.
