9 Golden Ball Street - The Woolpack Inn
The first licensee of this pub was Richard Cooke from 1760-1764, when it was known as 'The Woolpocket' until 1807. The house has however since been rebuilt on the site and dates from 1938. One of the rooms is said to contain five plaster reliefs by Murray Smith depicting scenes from the wool trade.

Woodpigeon (Columba palumbus)
The woodpigeon is the country's largest and commonest pigeon. Its plumage is mainly grey apart from a white neck patch and white wing patches which are clearly visible in flight. Although commonly shy in the countryside it can be fairly tame and approachable in towns and cities.
