The church of St John the Baptist - C13 baptismal font
St John's church > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/873336 - http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/873350 - http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/873366 has a C15 tower with a frieze depicting shields and chalices > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/873338. On the north side two round splayed Saxon windows > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/873342 can be seen under the eaves of the thatched roof. The church was greatly restored in the 19th century; of the rood screen > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/873355 only traces of the original woodwork remain; the west gallery dates from the 17th century and the stained glass windows are Victorian and later. The font (seen here) is Purbeck marble and dates from the 13th century.
