Govilon Boat Club
Govilon wharf has two original Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal buildings, remaining from the days when locally produced iron and lime was transported from here. The canal's decline was hastened after purchase by the Great Western Railway, leading to abandonment. Restoration began in 1964 and is still proceeding. Major expenditure will be required to replace the parts that have been built over, however. This has been achieved in Stroud on the Thames and Severn, so why not here ?

Not a bad spot on the canal. Ideal lunch spot - as this couple demonstrate.
