Farmyard at Ty'r-pwll at The Hardwick near Abergavenny
The Mon. and Brec. Canal is on the other side of the valley. That, surely, is the only reasonable explanation for a farmer having a canal boat in a field out front. Or maybe compulsive hoarding? I like his style anyway.

The Hardwick, near Abergavenny
A wayside pub, renamed after the locality and now renowned for its food and well-known chef, once just a run-of-the-mill pub called the Horse and Jockey, if I recall correctly. Good to see it doing well.

The Hardwick restaurant near Abergavenny
The Hardwick is a gastro-pubby type 'restaurant with rooms' and displays its foody credentials in its signage and fashionable white exterior. Its full car park on a Friday lunchtime is also surely a sign that what it offers the paying customer is good. Neighbouring pubs still ploughing a traditional furrow must wonder what they need to do to compete.
