Two electricity substations in central Cwmbran
An electricity substation name usually doesn't change in line with the name of the premises from which it took its name and is thus often a useful guide to the past. These two are Western Power Distribution substations. The name on the one of the left, alongside the red car, is FINE FARE CWMBRAN. Fine Fare was a chain of supermarkets, founded in 1956, in business until 1986. The name on the one on the right is POST OFFICE CWMBRAN. The post office is no longer in the building on the left (it is now inside WH Smith). Cwmbran Delivery Office remains in the building.
