Entrance to Llantarnam Abbey
From Newport Road. In the year since this photo http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/875484 was taken, a black plaque https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/7127987 has been added. It records that Reginald Blewitt MP (1799-1878) was a previous owner of Llantarnam Abbey. Blewitt was an important figure in the development of Cwmbran, involved with canals, railways and collieries.
