The main entrance gate at Magor brewery
I have been in the massive brewery complex here, albeit many years ago (in the 1990's if I recall correctly). Yes they allowed Dracula into the bloodbank. At that time, if my memory serves again, I recall being informed that around 80% of all the UK's lager was brewed here. I assume that much has changed since, but that is a staggering thought. Admittedly 'brewed' does not seem the correct word when really it is just a massive chemical manufacturing process. Seeing the vast scale of the operation put me off consuming lagers for a day or two at the time. I rallied quickly though and resumed my unofficial role of 'chief taster' thereafter. These days I am pleased to report that I enjoy a pint of lager with a curry and prefer real ale, 'faine waines' and a cuppa tea. Commensurately, I haven't put my foot through my own telly, fought the law or scaled scaffolding or eaten a kebab in decades...
