Breast Test Wales mobile unit, Asda car park, Brynmawr
The mobile unit is in the Asda http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2258115 car park at Lakeside Retail Park, Brynmawr.
Breast Test Wales (BTW) was established in 1988 to deliver the National Health Service breast screening programme in Wales, to detect the presence of breast cancer and pre-cancerous conditions. Screening began in February 1989. BTW is divided into three geographical divisions with centres in Cardiff, Swansea and Llandudno (with its new satellite centre in Wrexham).
This is one of ten mobile units used in Wales to support these centres, visiting over 100 sites in every three year round of screening.

Lakeside Retail Park shops, Brynmawr
Shops in a long row on the west side of the retail park include Pets at Home, Bonmarche, Halfords and Peacocks. The retail park occupies the site of the former Dunlop Semtex Rubber Factory, which was demolished in 2001 as part of a regeneration scheme.

Small stream flowing towards Waun Pond
