Victoria Empire plaque, Market Square, Brynmawr
This plaque is displayed on a house between the garage and the roundabout, south of Market Square.
At one stage there were plans to demolish these houses but thankfully they have been restored and are now in use.
The plaque was erected to celebrate her 60 years of her reign and is probably contemporary with when the houses were built. It lists countries of the old British Empire.

Golden Jubilee mural, Market Square,Brynmawr
This mural was painted by the garage in Market Square in 2002 to celebrate the Golden Jubilee. It shows what Market Square looked have looked like in the past.
The cinema, which dominates the Market Square, was covered in metal section cladding for along time and has recently undergone a facelift but with awful UPVC windows.
