Bettws north of Bettws Brook, Newport
The trees are on a bank of Bettws Brook. Bettws (Betws in Welsh) is an electoral ward in the city of Newport. Formerly a sparsely-populated rural area, Bettws is now one of the largest modern housing estates in Europe.
Its population on the day of the 2011 Census was 7,606.

Located in the NW corner of Weare Close. The identifier on the Western Power Distribution (WPD) electricity substation is WEARE CLOSE S/S No 53-2207. A red notice on the wall informs WPD staff that remote control actuators are fitted to 11kV switchgear - contact control before entry.
