Graig Park Lane extends from Graig Park Road on this side to Graig Park Avenue, 150 metres ahead.

There was a snowfall ranging from 4 inches (10cm) at lower levels up to about 6 inches (15cm) at higher elevations in the city overnight January 5th/6th 2010. Main roads were quickly cleared, but side roads remained mostly snow-covered, causing difficulties for drivers in the hillier parts of the city. This view is of the top end of one of the steeper side roads, Graig Park Avenue as it approaches its end at the edge of Graig Wood. A resident told me that he was able to drive his car down the hill, but when he tried to drive back up later on, his car couldn't climb the snowy hill. He left this car overnight, hoping to reverse back to the main road the following day, but found that he was boxed in by other cars whose drivers had had the same problem.

Graig Park Avenue is the northernmost street in Graig Park. This view is from the blocked off end of the avenue adjacent to a Malpas Road bus stop, looking towards Graig Wood. On the far side of Graig Wood are the upper parts of the Brynglas area of Newport.

Graig Park Hill is the most easterly street in Graig Park. It runs along the western edge of Graig Wood, part of which can be seen in the background. This view is from Graig Park Avenue looking towards Graig Park Road.

Viewed from the edge of Malpas Road. Snow persists on Christmas Day 2010, after a moderate snowfall five days earlier, and temperature mostly remaining below freezing. Graig Wood is in the distance.

Viewed across Graig Park Road. Graig Park Lane extends northwards to Graig Park Avenue, 140 metres ahead. This view of two long lines of parked car is not typical of most Fridays here at 9.40am. This Friday is New Year's Day 2016, a Bank Holiday, when many people are not at work and some, perhaps, are still abed after the previous night's festivities.

Graig Park Lane descends from Graig Park Avenue towards Graig Park Road. Houses in the Graig Park area, on the east side of Malpas Road, were built in the 1930s.

The electrical installation & repairs van is parked in Graig Park Hill, the easternmost street in the Graig Park area. The back gardens of the houses on this side of the road are at the edge of Graig Wood.

From Graig Park Road, Graig Park Lane ascends northwards towards Graig Park Avenue. Graig Wood Close is behind the camera.
