Up Tunnel Terrace, Newport
Tunnel Terrace ascends away from the top end of Bridge Street. The wall on the left is at the top of a steep drop to a cutting conveying the South Wales Main Line between Newport railway station and the two portals of Hillfield Tunnel.

Gemelli restaurant, Bridge Street, Newport
Located at 42 Bridge Street, on the Tunnel Terrace corner and adjacent to the road bridge across the railway. Gemelli is a small Italian restaurant run by the Gemelli brothers. In addition to meals and snacks, they specialise in cakes and desserts.

Bridge Street, Newport
Looking south from the top end of Bridge Street towards the city centre. On the left, the modern-style postbox is adjacent to a former sub post office. On the right is Gemelli Italian restaurant. Directly ahead is the bridge across the Newport to Cardiff main railway line. The bridge has a 38 tonne limit.

At the top end of Bridge Street, opposite Gemelli Italian restaurant.
Retrocentric sell retro items, especially clothing.
Bon Appetit sell food items, including baguettes, salads, sandwiches and jacket potatoes.
The usage, if any, of the small premises to the right of Bon Appetit is unknown to this contributor.
The post box is the only clue remaining that previously the Clytha Park post office was on this site.

Retrocentric and Baguetty Junction, Bridge Street, Newport
At the top end of Bridge Street, opposite Gemelli Italian restaurant.
Retrocentric sell retro items, especially clothing, a selection of which is prominently displayed on the outside of the premises.
Baguetty Junction's offerings include baguettes, sandwiches, panini, toasted sandwiches, jacket potatoes, breakfast (including breakfast baguettes).

Repainted railway bridge, Bridge Street, Newport
The bridge carries the B4591 over the South Wales main railway lines, a few tens of metres SW of Newport Railway Station. An earlier view of the bridge http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1539714 shows it before the repaint.
