Most of the streets on the Gaer Estate are named after literary giants. Ben Jonson (1572-1637) was an English Renaissance dramatist, poet and actor. The educational aspect of the name is spoilt somewhat in that one name sign shows Ben Johnson Way, though the sign on the other side of the street correctly shows Ben Jonson Way.
