Green Maesglas name on a wall in Newport
The name is a recent addition to the wall on the corner of Maesglas Avenue and Cardiff Road.
Perhaps its mainly green colour represents the literal translation of the Welsh Maesglas (green field). The local pronunciation of the first element of Maesglas is 'maze' whereas the Welsh is similar to 'mice'.
