Afon Gardens near Ponthir
Cul-de-sac of modern houses viewed across the B4236 Caerleon Road. Most references state that this is part of Ponthir, though the location is on the City of Newport side of the Afon Lwyd, the river which here marks the boundary.

Downstream along the Afon Lwyd, Ponthir
The river flows away from the camera on the B4236 Caerleon Road bridge. The Afon Lwyd is a major tributary of the River Usk. Maps show that the river here marks the boundary between Ponthir in Torfaen (left side) and the City of Newport.

B4236 Caerleon Road bus stops near Ponthir
In July 2019 these stops alongside the B4236 are on Newport Bus Route 29B. The stop on the left is for buses to Newport via Caerleon. The stop on the right is for buses to Cwmbran via Llanfrechfa.
