Twyn y Ffald Constitutional Club, Cefn Fforest
Located between 107 and 109 Bedwellty Road, Cefn Fforest, Blackwood. The earliest Constitutional Clubs date from the 1880s, at a time of franchise reform. The Representation of the People Act became law in 1884. It was anticipated that many Conservative supporters who would be given the vote would want to belong to a Conservative club. Existing clubs feared being inundated with new membership applications, so Constitutional Clubs were founded with these new electors in mind. Many present-day Constitutional Clubs are associates of the ACC (Association of Conservative Clubs). Use of the clubs is generally limited to members and their guests, though applications for membership are welcome.
