This shows a side view of Paran Church. The churchyard is reached by passing through the gates and continuing round to the right. The graveyard is very well tended and includes a bank at a higher level.

Manmoel Inn Sign
Rhymney Brewery was established in 1839 and closed in 1978. The famous Hobby Horse trademark of the little man on the barrel, designed by a keen sportsman, became well known familiar sight throughout Wales and especially the Valleys.

Infrequent bus service, Manmoel
There are no shops in the small village of Manmoel. The shelter is for the bus service to Blackwood, viewed in July 2014. A notice inside the shelter shows that there are only two buses a week, one on Tuesdays and one on Fridays, leaving here at 2.30pm on both days. The scheduled journey time to Blackwood is 15 minutes, giving just over an hour there before the only bus back at 4pm. There are no buses at all on the other five days. The notice in dated October 2011, so I wondered whether the infrequent service shown was still running in 2014...
