An entrance to the eastern side of St Sannan's churchyard, Bedwellty
The eastern part of the burial ground extends roughly 300 metres north-south and 80 metres east-west. There is also an extensive burial ground on the west and north west side of the church.

Lych gate, St Sannan's Church, Bedwellty
Located in the SE corner of the churchyard, the lych gate was formerly used to shelter a coffin until the clergyman's arrival for the burial, or pre-burial service. The church http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3503470 is located about 1,000 ft (c300m) above sea level on the ridge between two river valleys, the Rhymney to the west and the Sirhowy to the east.
