Wellingborough railway station, Northamptonshire
Opened in 1857 by the Midland Railway on the line from Bedford to Leicester. View north towards Finedon and Leicester. Compare to Image taken from a similar position. Recent modernisation has seen the lines electrified, the two former platforms on the right brought back into use and the footbridge extended and provided with lifts. The old goods shed to the left also now has a walkway through it.

Wellingborough railway station, Northamptonshire
Opened in 1857 by the Midland Railway on the line from Bedford to Leicester. View south towards Irchester and Bedford shortly after the lines were electrified and the station modernised.

Wellingborough - station platform
The buildings of Wellingborough Station date from 1857 and are attributed to the architect, C. H. Driver. Since this photo was taken (1999), the colour scheme has changed and the footbridge (the steps of which are just visible at the extreme left of the photo) has been replaced. Wellingborough railway station, Northamptonshire, 2013
Opened in 1857 by the Midland Railway on the line from Bedford to Leicester. View north towards Finedon and Leicester. The two former platforms to the right were hidden by a fence at the time this image was taken. They were reopened for public use 8 years after this image was taken, the footbridge extended and all four lines electrified. See Image for a 2021 view from a similar camera position.
