The building at right with the 'For Sale' notices is the original PO and sorting office. Mail is now sorted in Northampton. To the right of that, and behind, is the British Telecommunications building.

The Wellingborough Bombing
Wellingborough was bombed during World War II, on Monday 3 August 1942. Six people were killed and 55 injured; fortunately, being a bank holiday, thousands of people were away at a fair at a nearby village. Many houses and other buildings in the centre of the town were damaged in the attack.
This Civic Society blue plaque was affixed to the back of Image] as a memorial to those who died.
