The Wellingborough Bombing
Wellingborough was bombed during World War II, on Monday 3 August 1942. Six people were killed and 55 injured; fortunately, being a bank holiday, thousands of people were away at a fair at a nearby village. Many houses and other buildings in the centre of the town were damaged in the attack. This Civic Society blue plaque was affixed to the back of Image] as a memorial to those who died.
