Sywell Aerodrome: "Amy" drama documentary
Spot the deliberate "mistake": two aircraft with the same registration. These aircraft are not what they seem, since they are involved in the filming of the BBC drama documentary "Amy". The BBC filming took place in September 1983. Producer was Innes Lloyd and Director Nat Crosby. Chief Cameraman Remy Aderfarasin. Amy Johnson was played by Harriet Walter. Aircraft used in the filming were: DH60G G-ABEV 'G-AAAH' 'Jason' Green/Silver DH60GMW G-AAMY 'G-EDCA' Sir Sefton Brancker's aircraft Yellow/Black DH60G G-ATBL 'G-AAAH' 'Air Taxis Stag Lane' Red/White DH82A G-BJZF Camera ship for aerial sequences of Harriet Walter and aerobatics DH80A G-AEOA 'GAAVB' Stag Lane dressing DH85 G-ACMN Engineering support (Henry Labouchere) Owners/Pilots of aircraft appearing in the flying sequences G-ABEV Ron Souch/Mike Vaisey G-AAMY Cliff Lovell/Cliff Lovell G-ATBL Mike Vaisey/Mike Vaisey G-BJZF Chris Parker/Chris Parker The drama documentary 'Amy' was first broadcast on January 2nd 1984 Information kindly provided by one of the pilots involved.
