River Nene towards Islip
A contentious issue as to the pronunciation of the Nene from this point on. It is generally safe to pronounce Nene (pronounced Neen). Up river from the Thrapston bridge it's Nene (as in hen). Others may suggest that the distinction is less easily defined.
