These old buildings on the northern edge of the village are generally in a poor condition and the central section of the large old stone barn has collapsed completely. This barn had been photographed 10 years previously and appeared to be in relatively good condition.Image

Helmdon-Dismantled Railway
Looking down from Helmdon Viaduct onto the trackbed of the Stratford and Midland Junction Railway which ran from Blisworth to Banbury and was opened some 30 years before the Great Central Railway.A station was sited amidst the trees on the horizon and a station was also built for the GCR about a mile south of the viaduct. Hard to imagine a village this size having two stations but now there are none.
