Syresham Telephone Exchange
Located at 10 Main Road, this TE has the code SMSYR. It provides telephone and broadband services to 451 residential and 66 non-residential premises in Syresham plus Biddlesden, Crowfield and Whitfield nearby. The front building would appear to have been constructed in the GPO era whilst the wooden shed behind it may date from the 1970s. Like other TEs where there are two buildings, the second one would probably have been built to cope with increased telephone traffic. Both buildings would appear still to be in use and the BT warning notices can be clearly seen in front of them to inform the public to keep away from the TE. It has (01280) 850xxx numbers, the (01280) referring to the Buckingham group of five TEs, and its postcode is NN13 5HE.

High Street, Syresham
The handsomest and widest part of High Street with the village school behind the railings on the right. The through road turns sharp right past the thatched cottage; the narrower continuation to the left of the gable end is a dead end for motor traffic.

Methodist church, Syresham
The chapel (and probably the cottage at the side) was refronted in 1846. The red brick must have seen very daring in contrast with the local stone. Even 170 years later it comes as a bit of a shock.
