Sculptures in Abington Street
The two soaring figures commemorate the Northampton-born scientist Francis Crick. The rhinoceros, decorated with paintings inspired by the Northampton balloon festival, is part of the Go Safari 2012 sculpture trail, which claims to be "a world-class public art event". The wild animals were painted by schools, community groups and individual artists - in this case Nathan Smith.
