The Green, Newnham
The Romer Arms faces Newnham's Green. The name of this pub is probably unique and it is said to have been renamed from the Baker's arms when a lawyer called Romer Williams acquired it. Nowadays it incorporates Maria's Kitchen, a Portuguese restaurant. To the right road works are taking place on the B4037 entailing temporary traffic lights.

On The Green at Newnham. (The tale goes that this Public House was originally The Baker's Arms but was bought by a Mr Romar Williams, lawyer. The pub sign bears his family coat-of-arms.)
