The eastern approach to Bramcote Island
Bramcote Island, where the A6007 and B5010 meet the A52, appears to have a surfeit of traffic lights for drivers approaching from Nottingham. The blue van on the left is hiding an eighth traffic light head showing green.

One end of Hanley Avenue is seen here branching off Church Lane. The property behind the vehicle weight-restriction sign houses a medical practice and the church spire in the distance is that of St Michael and All Angels.

Bramcote Roundabout (1)
This complex junction used to be served by a straight-forward roundabout, which was woefully inadequate for modern traffic levels. Who ever designed the current solution is a genius, for although at peak times it is a cause of delay, on the whole traffic flows very well. The main stream of Nottingham bound traffic on the A52 goes through the centre. Traffic from Stapleford (B5010) and Ilkeston (A6007) are not controlled by lights until on the roundabout where lights control their entry to (or crossing of) the A52. For the other half see: Image
