Milepost on Derby Road
Now seriously defaced, possibly during World War II as an anonymity measure. On this side the words 'From' and 'Miles' can just about be identified; less so the word 'Derby'. The original inscriptions were probably 'From Derby 13 Miles' on this side, and 'From Nottingham 3 Miles' on the other. See http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3843916 for location.

Old Milestone by the A52, Derby Road, Nottingham Parish
Carved stone post by the A52, in parish of NOTTINGHAM (NOTTINGHAM District), Lenton Abbey, South of Wollaton Hall, on stone faced bank, below brick wall, on North side of road. Nottingham old stone, erected by the Nottingham & Grantham, Western End turnpike trust in the 19th century.
