Trams crossing at Wilkinson Street
Because of track renewal at Noel Street, Hucknall and Phoenix Park trams were terminating at Wilkinson Street. A shuttle bus service took passengers to The Forest, where a tram service to Station Street was operating. The northbound tram (left) is just leaving Image - the unoccupied driver's cab straddles the grid line. This was a particularly cheerless April morning.

Wilkinson Street railway bridge and a tram
Like Bobbers Mill Bridge and the two bridges carrying Western Boulevard over the railway, Wilkinson Street bridge was built in the 1930s as the city expanded westwards. The view is from the steps of the footbridge on a sunless April morning.

Tram tracks, Whitemoor
To anyone more familiar with heavy rail infrastructure, tram tracks with their sharp curves and impossibly steep gradients have a very strange appearance. Here the line curves on to Wilkinson Street, crossing the Nottingham - Mansfield railway.

Tram Track and Overhead
