Cinema replacement
This site used to be occupied by the Commodore cinema. This survived for a long time as a conversion to a banqueting suite/conference centre, but has now been replaced by this retail/residential building.

With Sainsbury's at the corner. The busy A610 is the main route from north Nottingham to the M1.

Former colliery railway
This footpath has been created on the alignment of an old colliery railway that ran parallel to Nuthall Road, continuing to serve a landsale wharf into the 1960s.

It is astonishing that an authority which can be imaginative enough to provide a spectacular grille to the window can be so unimaginative as to then place the extremely undistinguished green sign above it.

Aspley Library
Nottingham is well provided with branch libraries of various ages. Aspley Library was opened in 1937 to serve the new Aspley estate which lay behind it. It is in a restrained Art Deco style.
