The northbound tram track crosses Radford Road on its way from Shipstone Street (on the right) to Wilkinson Street (on the left). One of the two huge gasholders at Basford Gasworks is straight ahead.

Overall the snow was not particularly heavy, but with enough wind to create drifting.

Once Shipstone's Star Brewery
The former brewery is now occupied by John Pye & Sons, corporate asset managers and auctioneers. In the olden days, Nottinghamians liked Shippo's (I didn't), Home Ales (I did) or Kimberley Ales (the best of the three). None now exist.

Wilkinson Street junction with Radford Road
A lot to see in this picture. Over this section of road the trams are running 'continental' - the tram on the right is going away from the camera. The shop behind the tram is The Valve Shop which has a reputation of being THE place to get an electrical component which you cannot get elsewhere. The valves referred to are radio valves - whether you can still get them I don't know. Top left is a typical Nottingham textile factory with its clerestory windows to give light to the finishing shop.
