War Office Truck 2, 1958
A 'historic' vehicle, a Ford 15-cwt truck that was bought from the MOD depot at Bulwell by the University of Nottingham Biological Society for an expedition to the Alpes-Maritimes in France in August 1958. It had a 60bhp V-8 engine, and here is being loaded outside the Biological Sciences building before departure. Its registration, UTV 3, might now be of value as a 'cherished plate'.

The George Green Library of Science and Engineering
It was just called simply "The Science Library" in my day!
My most vivid memory of being in here would have been in late 1978 when working on the write-up of our 3rd year Organic Chemistry project. I discovered in the literature a reaction which explained why the fourth stage of an six or eight stage synthesis gave us an awful mixture of products which consisted mainly of the compound we had started with three weeks before.

A tight bend
Here the NET tram track swing behind the University Music and Art departments from Science Road. The gable half visible on the far right belongs to the Djanogly recital hall. It is to be hoped that the trams will not be heard from within.
