A Nottingham terrace
This terrace on Lenton Boulevard is typical of Nottingham's inner suburbs. I guess these will currently be housing 5 or six students each house.

Lenton: Mettham Street
A street of typical Nottingham terraced houses, off Lenton Boulevard. The family of Albert Ball VC, the Great War air ace, lived briefly in Mettham Street before moving up in the world and settling in a grand house in The Park Estate (Image]). Albert Ball's statue is in the grounds of Nottingham Castle - see Image] and Image] - and The Albert Ball Memorial Homes nearby, on Church Street (Image] and Image]).

Leafy Lenton
A spring-morning view through a zoom lens up Lenton Boulevard, towards Derby Road. Castle Boulevard, Lenton Boulevard, Radford Boulevard and Gregory Boulevard, laid out in the 1880s, formed a big loop round the western side of the city, an early form of inner-ring road leading from the foot of Castle Rock to Mansfield Road. According to his sister Lois, speaking in 1981, the Great War air ace Albert Ball VC (1896-1917) was born at No 32, in the distance on the right, but this is not confirmed by other sources - and there is no plaque. The Ball family later moved to a grand house in The Park Estate - see Image

A launderette here on the corner. Its name possibly derives from Naval slang for washing / laundry, see https://www.navy-net.co.uk/community/threads/naval-terminology.60447/ here...
